Panama City Beach Events Calendar 2027 (Thunder Beach, Gulf Coast Jam & More)
Panama City Beach runs on an event calendar. Two motorcycle rallies, a four-day country festival, a pirate fest and a month of spring break drive the busiest — and priciest — weeks of the year. This page lists the dates that are officially confirmed, flags the ones still pending, and explains what each event does to rental availability so you book the right week at the right time.

Confirmed Panama City Beach event dates
These dates are published by the event organizers. Anything not listed here is still in a typical-window stage — we update this page as each one is confirmed rather than guessing.
- Thunder Beach Autumn Rally — October 21–25, 2026. Free rally, Frank Brown Park plus partner venues across the beach.
- Pirates of the High Seas & Renaissance Fest — October 9–11, 2026. Free, Aaron Bessant Park and Pier Park, with the Saturday pirate parade.
- Thunder Beach Spring Rally — April 28 – May 2, 2027. The larger of the two rallies.
- Gulf Coast Jam — June 3–6, 2027, Frank Brown Park. 2027 headliners: Bailey Zimmerman (Thu), Luke Bryan (Fri), Jason Aldean (Sat), Zach Top (Sun).
- Spring break season — all of March 2027, with county rules in force March 1–31.
Events with dates still to be confirmed
These run most years in a predictable window, but the 2027 dates aren't published yet. Treat the windows as planning guides, not bookable dates — check the organizer before you commit to travel.
- SandJam Fest — late April, beachfront at Russell-Fields Pier. Often lands the weekend before or after the spring rally.
- UNwineD — spring food and wine weekend at Aaron Bessant Park.
- Emerald Coast Cruizin' classic car shows — spring and fall weeks at Aaron Bessant Park.
- Seabreeze Jazz Festival — April, Aaron Bessant Park amphitheater.
- Lobster Festival & Tournament — summer, Treasure Island Marina.
- IRONMAN Florida — early November, with road closures across Front Beach Road.
- Mardi Gras & Music Festival — February, Pier Park.
- Beach Home for the Holidays and the New Year's Eve Beach Ball Drop — December, Pier Park.
What each event does to rentals
Not all busy weeks behave the same way. Knowing the pattern tells you how far ahead to book and whether you want to be in the middle of it or a few miles away.
- Thunder Beach (both rallies): roughly 60,000 riders, spread across the whole beach. Front Beach Road traffic is slow all week. Homes with garages or covered parking go first.
- Gulf Coast Jam: concentrated around Frank Brown Park at the west end. Four-day passes only, so most guests book Wednesday-to-Monday stays.
- Spring break: a month-long lift rather than one spike, heaviest around Pier Park and mid-beach.
- Pirates of the High Seas: a family weekend, strong demand but shorter stays.
- IRONMAN: race-morning road closures matter more than crowds — check the course map against your address.
When to book for an event week
Event weeks are the one time PCB behaves like a sold-out market. The practical rule: the bigger the event, the earlier the good homes disappear, and the less likely a late deal appears.
- Gulf Coast Jam and the spring rally: book 6–9 months out. Larger homes near the west end are typically gone by late winter.
- Autumn rally and Pirates weekend: 3–5 months out is usually enough.
- Spring break: book by January for March dates; the last week of March and first week of April stay open longest.
- Expect minimum-stay requirements on event weeks — often 3 to 5 nights, sometimes fixed arrival days.
- Cancellation terms tighten on peak weeks. Read the policy before you pay a deposit.
Where to stay for each event
Distance from the event site is the single biggest factor in how your week feels.
- Gulf Coast Jam: the west end (Laguna Beach, Carillon, Panama City Beach Parkway side) puts you closest to Frank Brown Park.
- Thunder Beach: anywhere on the beach works, but choose a home with off-street or covered parking and easy Front Beach Road access.
- Spring break with kids: east of Thomas Drive or west past Pier Park keeps you out of the busiest corridor.
- Pirates of the High Seas: within walking or short-shuttle distance of Pier Park for the parade and fireworks.
- Quiet weeks: mid-September through October and the first half of December are the calmest stretches with good weather.
How we keep these dates accurate
Every confirmed date on this page comes from the event organizer's own published schedule, and we re-check it before each season. Where a date isn't published yet, we say so instead of listing a placeholder. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we'll correct it.
Frequently Asked Questions
When is Thunder Beach in Panama City Beach?
Thunder Beach runs twice a year. The Autumn Rally is October 21–25, 2026, and the Spring Rally is April 28 – May 2, 2027. Both are free to attend and spread across Frank Brown Park and partner venues along the beach.
When is Gulf Coast Jam 2027?
Gulf Coast Jam 2027 is June 3–6, 2027, at Frank Brown Park in Panama City Beach. The confirmed headliners are Bailey Zimmerman on Thursday, Luke Bryan on Friday, Jason Aldean on Saturday and Zach Top on Sunday. The festival sells four-day passes rather than single-day tickets.
What is the biggest event in Panama City Beach?
By attendance, the Thunder Beach motorcycle rallies are the largest, drawing more than 60,000 people twice a year. Gulf Coast Jam is the largest ticketed event, with more than 25,000 fans a night across four days.
How far in advance should I book a rental for an event week?
Six to nine months ahead for Gulf Coast Jam and the spring Thunder Beach rally, three to five months for the autumn rally and Pirates of the High Seas, and by January for March spring break dates. Event weeks usually carry minimum stays of three to five nights.
Are Panama City Beach rentals more expensive during events?
Yes. Event weeks are the highest-rate weeks of the year and often come with longer minimum stays. Comparing all-in totals matters most on those weeks — the same home booked through Amplify is typically about 10–20% less than on Airbnb or Vrbo once every fee is counted.
Which Panama City Beach events are free?
Both Thunder Beach rallies and the Pirates of the High Seas & Renaissance Fest are free to attend. Gulf Coast Jam, SandJam, UNwineD and the Seabreeze Jazz Festival are ticketed.
